Do you penalize the 10 for contact with the 5 or do you let it slide because the 5 opened and closed the door on the 10?
EDIT: Race control just declared no penalty

I honestly wouldn’t have expected the 10 to be close enough to try the gap. The 5 had been getting the better run from the bus stop and probably didn’t know the 10 was that close.

I think it was the right call.

After that restart with the 31 team car and the illegal weaving on the next one, I don’t think they should get any favors. Besides, the nose was in and the 5 came down on him.

I agree. There was enough fault on both sides that you can’t justify stripping the win from the 10.

If Taylor wiggled and moved up a bit and hit albequerqe, then yeah, penalize away. But Taylor seeked to hold his line very well.

The latter. You can’t penalize for every bit of contact. If the 10 just drove in there and punted the 5 off of the racing line, id say a penalty was warranted, but since the 5 made a move to the outside and then cut back down, thats just unfortunate racing.

Good no call.
